Pinda Oil, known in Sinhala as pinda thailaya, is a traditional Sri Lankan herbal oil, and this bottle is sold under the Ayurvedaya name. The front label carries the name twice, first in large Sinhala script and then in English beneath it.
The oil itself is a deep reddish brown, dark in the body of the bottle and turning amber where the light catches the shoulder and neck. It is a straightforward, single preparation in a single size, offered here as one 180ml bottle.
The bottle is clear glass with rounded shoulders and a short neck, closed with a ribbed maroon screw cap. Its wraparound label is maroon, edged top and bottom with orange bands, and illustrated with a small glass bowl of golden oil beside a pair of hands resting on bare feet. The 180ml figure sits in a small green panel at the foot of the label.
Ayurvedaya is a Sri Lankan brand owned by iZone Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, which sells Ayurvedic and herbal goods and has a concept store in Liberty Plaza. This is the oil as it is sold on the island, in its own bottle and label, offered as a traditional preparation, not as a medicine.
