Classic Earl Grey is part of the Akbar Classic Collection of tins: 250g of loose Ceylon black tea scented with natural bergamot oil.
Bergamot is a citrus fruit grown mainly in southern Italy; the oil from its peel gives Earl Grey its familiar perfume. Here it is laid over high and medium-grown Ceylon black tea of Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe (FBOP) grade, a leaf that gives a smooth, fairly full cup. The citrus is clear on the nose and lingers after each sip.
Drink it black with a slice of lemon, or with a dash of milk if you prefer. It also brews well for iced tea.

How to brew
- One level teaspoon per cup.
- Water at a full boil, 100 C.
- Steep for 3 to 5 minutes in a teapot, then strain.
- Add lemon, milk or honey to taste.
