Sri Sharavi Beach Villas & Spa is a boutique beachside retreat at Thalaramba, on a quiet stretch of coast just outside Mirissa where the sand fronts straight onto the Indian Ocean. The property is built around four private villas and a small collection of rooms and suites, wrapped in gardens and anchored by one of the south coast's most distinctive features — a 43-metre saltwater infinity pool that runs towards the sea.
Location
The villas stand directly on the beach between Mirissa and Matara — close enough to reach Mirissa's harbour and Mirissa Beach in a few minutes by tuk-tuk, yet set away from the busiest part of the bay. Galle Fort is around forty minutes up the coast, Weligama a short drive west, and Bandaranaike International Airport is roughly two and a half hours away via the Southern Expressway.
Villas & rooms
The four three-bedroom beach villas each come with living and dining areas and a pantry with a refrigerator and tea- and coffee-making facilities, several bedrooms opening to balconies and the sea. Alongside them sit a smaller number of rooms and suites — Palm Double Rooms and Garden, Beach and Ocean Signature suites — many opening onto the lawn or looking straight out to the water. Interiors are bright and coastal, with whitewashed walls, high ceilings and simple furnishings that keep the ocean in view.
Spa & pool
The 43-metre saltwater infinity pool is the heart of the property, edged by sun loungers and a terrace arranged for alfresco dining. The in-house spa offers massages and Ayurvedic-style treatments — a natural fit with the slow, sea-facing pace of the place.
Dining
Meals are served in-house, with a menu built around fresh local seafood and Sri Lankan cooking, taken in the open air beside the pool or privately within your villa. The staff are known for attentive, personal service, from arranging breakfast to organising a tuk-tuk or an early-morning whale-watching boat.
Things to do
Whale watching boats leave Mirissa harbour in season, Coconut Tree Hill and the stilt fishermen of the Weligama coast are close by, and Yala National Park lies within range for a full-day safari. Surf lessons at Weligama, the boutiques and cafes of Galle Fort, and the temples and markets of Matara round out the nearby options.
