Porondam is the system of horoscope matching used in Sinhala astrology, most familiar from the comparison of two horoscopes before a marriage is agreed. This book sets out how that matching is done, and it does so as a practical manual: the astrological tables a student needs in order to work through a comparison are included alongside the reasoning behind them.
Its scope is not limited to marriage. The same method of checking porondam is applied here to a range of other undertakings, which the author treats as part of the subject rather than as an aside.
R. H. William is an astrologer who has compiled several works on astrology, and this one draws on long study of the subject. The approach is instructional throughout — the reader is being shown a procedure, not simply told about it.
The text is entirely in Sinhala. There is no English translation or parallel text, so reading ability in Sinhala is needed.
