About this experience
Board a small boat with a local fisherman on Habarana Lake for three hours of freshwater fishing in the heart of Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle. You handle a traditional fishing pole — the same kind locals have used for generations — while your guide reads the water, sets the lines, and shares his knowledge of the lake. Tea, coffee, or a cold beer is included to keep you comfortable as you wait for a bite.
This is a private activity, so the boat is yours alone. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not included, so make your own way to the lake. Participants must be at least 15 years old. Lakpura arranges the fisherman, all traditional equipment, and your drinks — you simply arrive, cast your line, and take in the calm, tree-fringed views across the water.
