Jonathan Swift's novel in Sinhala, in a version prepared by Premasiri Mahingoda. Swift was an Irish writer and clergyman, and the book he produced became one of the most widely read works of fiction anywhere. An English poet once remarked that it was read with equal appetite by the ruling class and by children in the nursery — a reputation it has kept across languages.

Please note that the text is entirely in Sinhala. There is no English in the book, so it suits readers of Sinhala, Sri Lankan families abroad keeping the language alive at home, and students working between the two literatures.

For buyers outside Sri Lanka, this is the kind of title that circulates widely at home but is rarely stocked overseas: a standard work of world literature carried into Sinhala by a local translator and issued by a long-established Colombo house.
