Experience:
You will be starting off your tour at 8.30 am (morning session) or 0.00 pm (evening session) from the cooking studio. (Any day of the week except Sunday) The address and directions of the studio will be provided once the booking is made. Your chef will meet you at the location and take you to the Pettah Market while you will be travelling in a tuk tuk or car depending on the time of the day and weather.
Rich in trading history, the Pettah Market is a bustling and vibrant bazaar area in Colombo dating back to the Dutch Colonial Era. From cobblestone alleys to worn out warehouses, every nook and cranny is full of market stalls brimming with unique finds, fresh produce and clothing, shoes, accessories, spices and many more. You will visit the fresh produce stalls that are always full of colourful vegetables and fruits.
Then, you head back to the cooking studio and begin with the workshop. You will have your own cooking stations and ingredients. The chef will enlighten you about Sri Lankan cuisine and teach you to prepare a Sri Lankan home-cooked meal. You can enjoy the cooked meal at the studio and end the cooking experience at approximately 2.30 pm or 0.00 pm (depending on the chosen session)
