Neem seed oil from Bowatte, sold by the Kandy dispensary with its herbal and hair oils. The oil is pressed from the seeds of the neem tree, kohomba in Sinhala, and has the strong, bitter, garlic-like smell typical of neem.
What is in it
Neem seed oil (Azadirachta indica).
How it is used
- In hair care: a little oil massaged into the scalp and hair, then washed out. For external use only. Keep away from the eyes.
- In the garden: the maker also lists it as a repellent for garden insects such as caterpillars, beetles, locusts and mites. See the label for dilution.
In the pack
100ml bottle.
Storage
Keep closed, in a cool place out of sunlight. Neem oil can turn solid when cold; stand the bottle in warm water to loosen it.
Read the label before use, and ask a doctor or an Ayurvedic physician first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or under medical care.
