Kanya and Meena Porondam

Obraz wygenerowany przez AI · to nie jest prawdziwe zdjęcie

Kanya and Meena sit directly opposite each other in the zodiac, and this pairing gives a clear set of rashi-level results in Sinhala porondam and Tamil porutham. Here the rashi means the moon sign (chandra rashi) in the sidereal zodiac used in Sri Lanka, not the sun sign printed in newspaper columns. This page explains what those results mean and why the two birth stars matter most.

What does the rashi count mean for Kanya and Meena?

Rashi matching counts the signs from the bride's moon sign to the groom's. Kanya and Meena are exactly opposite, so the count is 7 whichever partner is the bride. In both directions the calculator marks the rashi item as good, meaning it is obtained in Sinhala porondam and in Tamil rasi porutham alike.

A count of seven places the couple face to face across the zodiac, which traditional matching generally treats as a favourable arrangement. The rashi result is therefore the same whether the bride is Kanya and the groom Meena, or the reverse. It is a helpful starting point, but it is only one item in a much larger assessment.

Are Mercury and Jupiter friendly rashi lords?

Each moon sign has a ruling planet. Kanya is ruled by Mercury and Meena by Jupiter. In the classical scheme of planetary relationships these two are not mutual friends: one regards the other as neutral, while the other regards it as hostile. The calculator describes the relationship as neutral and hostile.

Because the lords are not friends, the rashi lord item (rashyadhipathi in Sinhala, rasi adhipathi in Tamil) is marked not obtained in both directions. This applies whoever is the bride. It is a single factor among many, and families usually weigh it alongside the star-based items rather than on its own.

How does vashya change depending on who is the bride?

Vashya looks at a traditional sense of mutual attraction between signs, and unlike the rashi count it can differ by direction. For this pair, the direction matters.

When the bride is Kanya and the groom is Meena, vashya is marked good, meaning obtained, in both Sinhala and Tamil matching. When the bride is Meena and the groom is Kanya, vashya is marked not obtained in both systems.

So the two directions share the same rashi result and the same rashi lord result, but differ on vashya. This is one reason the overall star-level figures for the two directions also look quite different, as the next section shows.

Why do the birth stars matter more than the rashi?

The real match is decided by each person's birth star (nakshatra) and its quarter. Between them, Kanya and Meena give 81 possible star-quarter combinations, and the outcomes vary widely.

With a Kanya bride and Meena groom, 54% of combinations reach 8 of 10 Tamil porutham, 10% come out weak in Tamil matching, none show a rajju clash, and 100% pass Sinhala porondam (excluding the weekday item). With a Meena bride and Kanya groom, 15% reach 8 of 10, 12% are weak, none show a rajju clash, and 96% pass Sinhala porondam.
