About this experience
Uw privé-dagtocht van 10 uur vanuit Negombo begint met hotelafhaling om 07:30 in een voertuig met airconditioning, uw Engelssprekende chauffeur-gids vergezelt u de hele dag. De eerste stop is Lunuganga — het landgoed van Sir Geoffrey Bawa, gevormd door de gevierde architect van 1947 tot zijn dood in 1998. Wandel door de gebeeldhouwde tuinen en terrasgewijze gazons die hij als persoonlijk experiment voor landschaps- en vormgeving gebruikte, en ga vervolgens naar het Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, waar aanraakpoolstjes babyzeeschildpadden bevatten en het personeel volwassen zeeschildpadden verzorgt die herstellen van verwondingen.
De middag brengt u naar Balapitiya voor een bootsafari op de Madu River — een lagoenensysteem met hoge biodiversiteit omzoomd door dicht mangrovebos. Glijd langs ingeweven wortels, let op watervaaranen en vogelwerkend, en bezoek de grotere vrijstaande eilanden langs de rivier. Lakpura verzorgt hotelafzet naar Negombo en een fles water van één liter per persoon. Entreegelden, maaltijden en fooien zijn voor uw eigen rekening.
