Mace — Lakpura®

Mace

Mace is a fragrant spice derived from the reddish aril surrounding the nutmeg seed of the Myristica fragrans tree, which grows in Sri Lanka’s tropical climate. It has a warm, slightly sweet flavor with hints of cinnamon and pepper, making it a popular ingredient in Sri Lankan cuisine, especially in curries, rice dishes, and spice blends like garam masala. Mace is also used in Ayurvedic medicine for its digestive and anti-inflammatory properties. Sri Lanka, known for its high-quality spices, exports mace worldwide, contributing to its economy. The spice enhances both savory and sweet dishes, adding depth and aroma.
