Accepted Answer

Cassia surattensis belongs to the broader legume family and is related to species now classified under the genus Senna, such as Senna tora and Senna alata. Question 7

Does Cassia surattensis have any ecological benefits?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As a legume, it fixes atmospheric nitrogen, enriching the soil around it. Its yellow flowers attract bees and butterflies, supporting local pollinator populations. The canopy also provides shade and shelter for understory wildlife, making it a useful species in agroforestry and habitat restoration contexts.
