This tour takes you into Sri Lanka's tea country, starting from Nuwara Eliya. Set among rolling green hills with cool mountain air, the area is known for high-grown Ceylon Tea. You will visit a tea factory, walk through the tea fields with a guide, and finish at Ramboda Falls.

The day opens with a drive through the misty hills around Nuwara Eliya to either the Blue Field Tea Factory or the Damro Tea Factory, two of the region's known tea producers, depending on availability on the day. On arrival, a guided walk through the surrounding plantation covers how high-grown tea is cultivated and how the leaves are hand-plucked.
Your entrance ticket then takes you inside the factory, where you follow the tea through each stage of production: withering, rolling, oxidation, drying, grading and packing. Your guide explains how traditional methods and modern machinery combine to shape the flavour and aroma of Ceylon Tea.
Afterwards, a guided tasting session gives you the chance to try freshly produced teas and learn what distinguishes one from another. On the way back, you stop at Ramboda Falls to take in the surrounding scenery and take photographs.
The tour suits anyone with an interest in tea, walking, photography or the history of Sri Lanka's tea industry and the central highlands where it is grown.
