The Odiris Knife Set brings together five stainless steel kitchen knives made in Sri Lanka by a manufacturer that has been producing kitchen tools since 1952. Each blade carries the brand's gear-wheel logo engraved into the steel alongside the words 'STAINLESS STEEL', and the packaging notes that the blades are hardened for a fine, sharp edge. This is a complete working set for a home kitchen, covering the full range of everyday cutting tasks.
The five knives are sized and shaped for distinct purposes. The chef's knife has a 20.5 cm blade and a 13.5 cm handle — the longest in the set and the natural choice for general chopping and slicing. The bread knife and the vegetable knife share a 20 cm blade length; the bread knife carries a serrated edge for baked goods and crusty loaves, while the vegetable knife has a plain edge suited to produce. For smaller tasks, the fruit and utility knife offers a 12 cm blade, and the paring and carving knife — the most precise tool in the set — has a 10.5 cm blade. All five handles are black and fitted with visible rivets.
Odiris Engineering Co (Pvt) Ltd was established in 1952, originally as a sole proprietorship, and is one of Sri Lanka's longest-standing kitchen tool manufacturers. The company converted to a limited liability structure in 1991 and continues to operate from Sri Lanka, with 'MADE IN CEYLON' printed on the set's outer box — a mark of local manufacture carried over from the brand's earliest decades.
The set arrives in a fitted box, with each knife seated in a numbered cardboard tray insert that keeps the blades separated and the packaging neat. The knives are numbered one through five on the box illustration, making it straightforward to return each piece to its correct slot. This makes the set as practical to store as it is to use.
