Royal Gold from Akbar is a loose-leaf Ceylon black tea of Orange Pekoe A (OPA) grade, packed 250 g in a gold box with a measuring spoon. OPA is a long, bold, whole leaf made from young shoots, the largest of the standard leaf grades.
The cup is bright amber and smooth, lighter in strength than the broken grades, with a light floral aroma and a subtle sweetness. It has depth without harshness, so it is worth tasting plain first.
The included spoon makes it easy to measure the bulky leaf the same way each time.
