Rainforest Edge ligt in Balawatukanda in Weddagala, bij Kalawana in het district Ratnapura, omringd door groen aan de rand van het Sinharaja-bosreservaat, een UNESCO-werelderfgoed dat bekendstaat om zijn biodiversiteit. Het reservaat ligt op ongeveer 500 meter van het hotel.
Weddagala ligt voorbij Ratnapura, een lange rit landinwaarts vanaf Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, en de reistijd hangt af van het verkeer en het weer op de dag zelf. Boek de transfer van de luchthaven van Colombo (CMB) naar Rainforest Edge.
De kamers hebben balkons met uitzicht op het omringende regenwoud, en de accommodatie is ontworpen om op te gaan in de natuurlijke omgeving, voor een rustiek maar comfortabel verblijf.
Een eigen restaurant serveert lokale en internationale gerechten, met roomservice wanneer nodig. Er is een goed onderhouden tuin en een 24-uursreceptie.
Het Sinharaja-bosreservaat, op ongeveer 500 meter afstand, kunt u verkennen tijdens rondleidingen met gids en via wandelpaden door het regenwoud.
