About this experience
Over 10 days, you travel through Sri Lanka's most rewarding wild spaces in a private vehicle, guided throughout by an English-speaking chauffeur guide. The route takes you to the UNESCO-listed Sinharaja — the island's only rainforest — where dense canopy shelters endemic birds and reptiles found nowhere else on earth. At Udawalawe National Park, herds of elephants graze the open plains, while a visit to a turtle hatchery on the southern coast lets you see conservation work up close. Whale watching off Mirissa adds a further dimension to the natural history on offer.
The second half of the tour pushes into Yala National Park, home to one of the world's highest densities of leopards, as well as the rare Sri Lankan sloth bear. In between the wilderness, you pass through Galle, its old lighthouse and colonial fort, before returning to Colombo's landmarks — Gangarama Temple, Galle Face, Independence Square. All transport and your chauffeur guide's accommodation are covered; hotel stays, entrance fees, and personal expenses are arranged separately. Minimum age 12.
