Can the wheelchair be self-propelled, or does it need someone to push it?
It can be used either way. The large rear wheels are fitted with push rings so the user can propel themselves independently, and there are push handles at the back for a companion or carer to steer the chair.
How compact does the wheelchair fold, and will it fit in a standard car?
When folded, the chair measures 12.75 inches wide, 35 inches tall, and 32.25 inches deep — compact enough to slide into most car boots or fit upright in a lift.
What is the minimum rental period, and is a deposit required?
The minimum rental period is three days. A refundable deposit is required to secure the booking, and is returned when the chair is brought back.
Is the wheelchair suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, on flat to moderately varied paved surfaces. It is not suitable for stairs or escalators, and on inclines steeper than approximately ten per cent a helper should accompany the user.
What are the key seat dimensions?
The seat is 20 inches wide and 16 inches deep. Seat height from the floor is adjustable between 18 and 20 inches, and the width between the armrests is 20.75 inches.
