The standard bus seats a maximum of 15 adults with their luggage. For a larger group, see our Chauffeur Driven Large Bus Rental.
How many hours a day does the chauffeur work, and can those hours be extended?
The chauffeur's service allocation is 8 hours a day, generally between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Extra hours are charged at USD 2.00 per hour.
How does the fuel and mileage allowance work?
Fuel is included for 180 km for 1 day, 340 km for 2 days, 480 km for 3 days, 600 km for 4 days and 700 km for 5 days, then a further 100 km for each day after that. A 9-day rental, for example, includes 1,100 km. Any distance beyond the allowance is billed at USD 0.98 per km.
Is accommodation for the chauffeur included?
No. Many hotels provide a room for the chauffeur; if neither you nor your hotel provides one, an overnight fee of USD 20.00 per night is payable to the chauffeur.
How is the mileage counted?
Rental days are counted by calendar day, whatever time the service starts or ends. For services within Colombo, the mileage count runs from your first pickup to your last drop-off, plus 10 km for the chauffeur's drive from the garage to your pickup point at the start and 10 km back to the garage at the end. For services outside Colombo, the standard mileage count starts and ends at Colombo Fort; if your trip starts or ends elsewhere, contact us for a tailored arrangement.
