Rent a bus for your visit to Sri Lanka and travel the island in your own private vehicle with an English-speaking chauffeur. Our chauffeurs are friendly, punctual and put your safety first, and they drive you for the whole of your trip. The bus carries up to 15 adults with their luggage, so a larger group can travel together in one vehicle.
Your chauffeur's service allocation is 8 hours a day, generally between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM. A longer day can be arranged at USD 2.00 per extra hour.
Fuel is included for a kilometre allowance that grows with the length of the rental: 180 km for 1 day, 340 km for 2 days, 480 km for 3 days, 600 km for 4 days and 700 km for 5 days, then a further 100 km for each day after that. A 9-day rental, for example, includes 1,100 km. Any kilometres beyond the allowance are billed at USD 0.98 per km.
Rental days are counted by calendar day, whatever time the service starts or ends. For services within Colombo, the mileage count runs from your first pickup to your last drop-off, plus 10 km for the chauffeur's drive from the garage to your pickup point at the start and 10 km back to the garage at the end. For services outside Colombo, the standard mileage count starts and ends at Colombo Fort; if your trip starts or ends elsewhere, contact us for a tailored arrangement.
The driver's overnight accommodation is not included. Many hotels provide a room for the driver; where yours does not, and you do not arrange one, a fee of USD 20.00 per night is payable to the driver.
