Selle kogemuse kohta

A Bundala safari from Koggala is a full day spent in one of Sri Lanka's most rewarding wildlife landscapes, reached by private jeep with a driver who also works as your tracker. Bundala sits in the Southern Province near Hambantota, roughly 245 kilometres southeast of Colombo, and carries a rare set of credentials for a park of its size: it was the first wetland in Sri Lanka to be declared a Ramsar site, it is recognised as a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and BirdLife International lists it as an Important Bird Area.

The appeal here is variety packed into open grassland, scrub and lagoon. Wild elephants move through the park in small groups, grazing in the open or feeding at the water's edge, and sightings range from distant herds to close encounters with tusked adults. Flamingos are the park's signature bird, arriving in flocks that wade through the shallows on the lagoons, and they share the park with a long list of resident and migratory species that has made Bundala a serious destination for birdwatchers. Across its recorded wildlife, the park holds 32 species of mammals and close to 200 species of birds, a density that rewards patient looking as much as luck.

The day runs for seven hours and is arranged as a private tour, with pick-up and drop-off at your hotel in Koggala and an air-conditioned vehicle for the road journey. Once inside the park you transfer to a jeep safari built for game viewing, open-sided with a canvas roof and raised seating, so passengers can stand to watch elephants in the grass or scan the lagoon for flamingos and waders. Your driver speaks English and knows the park's terrain, tracking animals along the trails that wind through thorny scrub, marshland and sand dune country near the coast.

Children are welcome from the age of five, and the tour is priced and run as a private experience rather than a shared group booking. The vehicle and driver are included, along with the jeep safari itself, hotel transfers and all taxes and service charges. Food, drinks, gratuities, personal expenses and the park entrance tickets are not included and should be budgeted for separately.

What stays with most visitors is the sheer range of habitat packed into one park: open savannah giving way to scrub, scrub giving way to lagoon, each holding a different cast of animals. An elephant feeding quietly with its trunk curled around foliage, a flock of flamingos standing close together in shallow water, a small bird perched beside red fruit in the undergrowth, all within the same few hours of driving. It is this concentration of habitat and species, recognised formally by Ramsar, UNESCO and BirdLife International, that sets Bundala apart from a standard game drive.

Ekskursioon kestab seitse tundi, sealhulgas hotellitransport Kogalas ning safari jeepiga rahvuspargi territooriumil.

Kas see on privaatne ekskursioon või rühmatuur?

See on privaatne ekskursioon omakandi sõidukiga, juhiga ja safari jeepiga, mitte kaasreisijatega liitumise teel.

Kas on lastele kehtiv miinimumvanus?

Kas rahvuspargis olemine piletid on kaasarvatud?

See sõltub broneerimisaegse Piletid valiku soovist: kui válite piletitega, siis on Bundala rahvuspargi sissepääs kaasarvatud, ilma piletiteta tuleb see eraldi korraldada. Söök, joogid ja pistmised pole kummalgi juhul kaasarvatud.
