Question 2

How do I book a tour with Ajeet De Soyza?

Accepted Answer

Book his Colombo walk on Lakpura as the Colombo City Walk with a Local: a private walk of three to four hours through Colombo Fort and Pettah, with tuk tuk rides between districts and entry fees included. Mention your interests when you book, and your guide contacts you the day before to confirm the meeting point.

Question 3

Is Ajeet De Soyza a licensed tour guide in Sri Lanka?

Food, architecture, and local daily life are recurring themes.

Question 5

Can Ajeet guide tours outside Colombo?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ajeet has extensive experience guiding guests across Sri Lanka, including the hill country, the south coast, ancient city sites, and nature reserves. He can also help travellers plan how different destinations connect within a single itinerary.

Question 6

How long does a Colombo city walk with a local guide take?

A typical city walk runs between three and five hours, depending on the areas covered and the pace the group prefers. Full-day programmes are also available for guests who want to cover more ground or add a meal component to the experience.

Question 7

What languages does Ajeet De Soyza guide in?

Accepted Answer

Ajeet guides primarily in English. If you have specific language requirements for your group, it is worth mentioning this when you make your initial enquiry so that the best arrangement can be confirmed in advance.

Question 8

Is a private guide worth hiring for Colombo?

Accepted Answer

Colombo has considerable depth that is easy to miss without local knowledge — from its layered colonial history to its wetlands and contemporary culture. A private licensed guide like Ajeet allows you to move at your own pace, ask questions freely, and access the kind of context that no map or audio tour can replicate.
