Ihr Fahrer holt Sie in Ihrem Hotel in Kalutara ab und bringt Sie südlich in einem klimatisierten Fahrzeug zum Udawalawe-Nationalpark – ein 30.821 Hektar großes Schutzgebiet direkt unterhalb der Zentralhochländer Sri Lankas. Die Steilküste bildet eine beeindruckende Kulisse, wenn Sie an einem der lohnendsten Wildtierziele der Insel ankommen, das vor allem für seine große ansässige Elefantenpopulation und die offene, afrikanisch anmutende Landschaft rund um das Udawalawe-Stausee bekannt ist.
Im Park besteigen Sie einen Jeep und fahren in das Schutzgebiet für eine spezielle Safari. Halten Sie Ausschau in den Grasländern und im Buschwerk nach Elefanten, Wasserbüffeln, Krokodilen und einer großen Vielfalt an Vogelarten. Pro Person wird eine Ein-Liter-Flasche Mineralwasser bereitgestellt. Die Tour dauert insgesamt neun Stunden, wird vollständig auf Englisch durchgeführt und ist privat – der Jeep gehört ganz allein Ihnen. Beachten Sie, dass Parkeintrittskarten, Mahlzeiten und Trinkgelder nicht enthalten sind.
