Treffen Sie Ihren erfahrenen lokalen Guide um 6 Uhr morgens in Ella Town und machen Sie sich auf den Weg durch die Landschaft zum Ella Rock. Die Route führt Sie an Teeplantagen vorbei, wo Pflücker bereits zur Arbeit aufbrechen, und durch sanft hügelige grüne Landschaften, bevor der Pfad stetig die Abhänge hinaufführt. Bringen Sie ausreichend Trinkwasser mit und nehmen Sie Salz oder Limette mit – Blutegel sind in dieser Gegend häufig anzutreffen. Das Mindestalter für diese private Wanderung beträgt 10 Jahre.
Erreichen Sie den Gipfel rechtzeitig, um die Sonne über die fernen Hügel aufgehen zu sehen, die steile Abhänge und weitläufige Aussichten über die Täler darunter enthüllt – bringen Sie Ihre Kamera mit. Nach dem Genießen des Gipfels wandern Sie zurück nach Ella Town und kommen gegen 9 Uhr morgens an, mit Zeit für ein kräftiges Frühstück. Die vollständige Wanderung dauert etwa 3 Stunden. Ein lokaler Guide ist inbegriffen; Speisen, Getränke, Trinkgelder und Hoteltransfers sind nicht enthalten.

DO IT. No regrets.
Amazing views. Not too difficult if you’ve got fitness. Took us about 1hr 45 round trip… the last ⅓ of the hike is pretty steep but you just keep going slowly. Totally worth it. We are in our 50s and managed it no proble…

The view itself is nice, but choose a dry day. We did after a rainy day and found nothing but leeches.
Like everything else in Sri Lanka, you have to pay 3US$ (January, 2026) just to see the view itself.
