About this experience
Meet your experienced local guide at Ella Town at 6 am and set off through the countryside towards Ella Rock. The route takes you past tea plantations, where pluckers are already heading to work, and through rolling green landscape before the track climbs steadily up the slopes. Pack sufficient drinking water and bring salt or lime — leeches are common in the area. Minimum age for this private hike is 10 years.
Reach the peak in time for the sun to climb over the distant hills, revealing steep drops and sweeping views across the valleys below — bring your camera. After taking in the summit, you hike back down to Ella Town, arriving around 9 am with time for a hearty breakfast. The full hike takes approximately 3 hours. A local guide is included; food, drinks, gratuities, and hotel transfers are not.

To do in the morning early or in the evening if it is hot.

Dream panorama. To reach the summit it takes about 4 hours and a half of moderate difficulty trekking between roundtrip.

Amazing views. Not too difficult if you’ve got fitness. Took us about 1hr 45 round trip… the last ⅓ of the hike is pretty steep but you just keep going slowly. Totally worth it. We are in our 50s and managed it no proble…
