Pinnalanda Restaurant, Rambukkana

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

The restaurant's setting is made all the more remarkable by its proximity to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which is situated in Rambukkana and managed under the care of the Zoological Department of Sri Lanka. The orphanage is home to nearly 63 elephants, housed across approximately 23 acres of cultivated land carefully designed to meet the needs of its residents. The area is intended to create a natural habitat for orphaned elephants, and visitors have the opportunity to watch, feed, or simply observe the elephants as they bathe in the river.
