Harischandra Sal Bar Soap is a long 700g bar of laundry soap in a red and yellow wrapper, the size Sri Lankan households cut into pieces for the week's washing. The maker says it is made with coconut oil and no animal fat.
Harischandra has made soap at Matara since 1962 and holds a permit to use the Sri Lanka Standards Institution mark for laundry soap (SLS 554).
How to use
- Cut the bar into pieces with a knife; keep one piece in use and the rest wrapped.
- Wet the clothes, rub the soap over the soiled areas, scrub or work into a lather, and rinse well.
- Good for hand washing, and for rubbing into collars and cuffs before a machine wash. Laundry soap is for fabrics, not the body.
In the pack
One 700g bar of Harischandra Sal laundry soap.
Storage
Keep the pieces dry between uses so they do not soften.
