Wild Culture is a boutique retreat between paddy fields and bird-filled gardens near Kirinda and Tissamaharama, about 20 minutes from the main Palatupana entrance (Block 1) of Yala National Park. It is built for the hours between game drives – pools, open lawns and outdoor dining – and suits families, couples and nature lovers alike.
Eight air-conditioned rooms look out over the paddy fields: four Deluxe King Rooms for two and four Deluxe King Suites that sleep four, up to 24 guests in all. Rooms can be booked individually, sharing the common areas with other guests, or the whole property can be taken for a private group.
An à la carte menu covers Sri Lankan curries and Western favourites, served indoors or outside. Each evening at sunset guests gather for the bonfire-lighting ceremony, and those staying at least two nights on half board are treated to a complimentary candle-lit dinner under the stars.
There is an infinity pool with countryside views and a separate children’s pool, an archery range, a mini golf course and a professional half basketball court – plenty to fill the middle of the day between morning and afternoon safaris.
Yala is home to leopards, elephants and sloth bears, and its Block 1 entrance is a short drive away. Kirinda temple and beach on the coast, and the ancient Tissamaharama stupa, are close by. Children up to 5 stay free and those aged 6 to 11 at a reduced rate. There is no driver accommodation on site, but the team can arrange a room nearby.
Bookable activities, tours, and tickets within a 25 km radius.
