Coco Royal Beach Resort is a beachfront hotel at Mahawaskaduwa, the stretch of coast between Wadduwa and Kalutara on Sri Lanka's south-west coast. Opened in 2015, it has 67 air-conditioned rooms set around an outdoor pool that looks out towards the Indian Ocean, with a private beach area directly in front.
The resort stands on Beach Road in Mahawaskaduwa, in the Waskaduwa area just south of Wadduwa, whose town centre is about 3 km to the north. Kalutara town is about 3 km to the south. The nearest railway station is Kalutara North, about 1.6 km away, on the coastal line between Colombo and Galle, and Wadduwa Station is about 6 km up the line.
Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) is about 75 km from Wadduwa by road, and the drive around Colombo and down the coast to the resort usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Kalutara, a short drive south, is known for its large white stupa beside the Kalu Ganga, and Wadduwa's beaches lie just to the north. Further along the coast are the turtle hatcheries of the south-west, the historic city of Galle with its fort, and Mirissa, the base for whale-watching trips in season.
