About this experience
Board a shared boat from Balapitiya and head out into the deep waters south of Sri Lanka in search of the ocean's largest mammals. Over 7 hours, you scan the horizon for blue whales, sperm whales, and fin whales moving through their natural habitat. Your English-speaking chauffeur collects you from your hotel and transfers you to the departure point in an air-conditioned vehicle, so the day starts comfortably. A 1-litre bottle of mineral water is provided, and entrance tickets are covered.
This is a shared-boat tour, open to travellers aged 5 and above. Food, drinks beyond the included water, and gratuities are not covered, so pack a snack if you prefer. Lakpura handles the logistics — hotel pick-up, drop-off, and all transport — leaving you free to keep your eyes on the water.
