About this experience
Head out after dark into the forests bordering Yala on this private three-hour loris-watching hike led by an expert naturalist guide. Lorises are nocturnal and arboreal — slow, deliberate climbers that spend their lives in the tropical woodland canopy — so your guide's trained eye makes all the difference. Entrance tickets are included, and your guide provides commentary throughout on loris behaviour, diet, and the wider forest ecology.
This is a private activity, minimum age five, conducted in English. Note that hotel pickup and drop-off are not included, so you'll make your own way to the meeting point. Gratuities and personal expenses are also at your own cost. Bring a torch, wear muted colours, and move quietly — patience rewards you with one of Sri Lanka's most elusive nocturnal mammals at close range.
