Sobre esta experiência
Lace up your climbing shoes and head to Kotigahakanda, a forested rock face within reach of Mount Lavinia. Your English-speaking guide meets you at your hotel, transfers you to the site by minivan, and briefs you on technique before you touch the rock. All climbing gear — helmet, harness, and shoes — is provided, so you arrive with nothing but enthusiasm. A first-aid kit is on hand throughout, and each climber receives a bottle of water to stay hydrated on the ascent.
The excursion runs for four and a half hours and is private, meaning the pace is set by your group alone. Minimum age is 12, and no prior climbing experience is needed — trained professionals guide you at every step of the route. Hotel drop-off is included once you're done. Food, beverages, and gratuities are not covered and can be arranged separately.
The climbing takes place at Kodigahakanda Sanctuary, about 40 km from Colombo Fort (around 1.5 hours' drive), where eight routes range from grade 5C to 7B. A session takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, with a morning slot (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and an afternoon slot (1:00 PM to 5:00 PM).
