About this experience
Your private 9-hour day trip departs with a hotel pickup in Panadura and heads south in an air-conditioned vehicle with an English-speaking chauffeur guide. First stop is Lunuganga, the celebrated country estate of architect Sir Geoffrey Bawa — a place of unusual, layered gardens and quiet reflection. From there, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, where conservation staff protect nesting sites along the beach.
The tour finishes at Balapitiya for a boat safari through the Madu River — a network of mangrove islands and quiet waterways. A complimentary water bottle is provided per person. Entrance tickets to Lunuganga Estate are not included and can be purchased on arrival. Minimum age is 5. Lakpura handles all logistics so you return to your hotel in Panadura by evening.
