About this experience
Your English-speaking chauffeur guide collects you from your Ahangama hotel and drives you to Yala National Park — one of Sri Lanka's most celebrated wildlife reserves, tucked into the island's southeast coast. The 8-hour private tour includes an air-conditioned vehicle for the road transfer, a chilled bottle of mineral water per person, and all taxes and service charges.
At the park, you board a soft-top jeep and head out with the roof open, scanning the scrub and reservoirs for leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and peacocks. Your guide reads the terrain and positions the jeep for the best sightings. Food, drinks beyond your included water, gratuities, and park entrance tickets are not covered, so bring cash for those. Children from age 5 are welcome on this private safari.
