About this experience
Step into your private, air-conditioned vehicle for a 10-hour day trip from Colombo to two of Sri Lanka's southern coast highlights. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide collects you directly from your hotel and heads south to Handunugoda Tea Estate — one of the very few tea factories in the country situated close to the beach. Walk the factory floor, learn how the leaves are processed, and see what sets this coastal plantation apart from the hill-country estates you may already know.
From there, your guide leads you through the Dutch-built Fort of Galle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You walk the broad ramparts, take in views of the Indian Ocean, and explore the historic lanes of the original town. A complimentary water bottle is provided per person throughout the day. Entrance fees, meals, and gratuities are not included. Minimum age for this private tour is 10 years.
