A Sinhala-language title from Vijitha Gunarathna, issued by Godage International Publishers, the Colombo house that publishes across Sinhala and English lists. The title reads in Sinhala as Pippi Long Stockings.
The text is in Sinhala throughout, printed in Sinhala script. There is no English text and no parallel translation, so this is a book for readers who are comfortable reading Sinhala — or for someone buying on behalf of a reader who is. Buyers outside Sri Lanka should be clear on that point before ordering.
It will suit Sinhala-reading households abroad looking for books in the language for younger family members, teachers and libraries building a Sinhala collection, and readers who prefer to buy Sri Lankan trade titles direct rather than hunt for them locally. Godage editions of this kind are ordinary paperback trade printings, made to be read rather than displayed.
If you are collecting contemporary Sinhala publishing, or simply keeping a home library stocked in the language, this is one to add to the shelf.
