This is Mango Tea from the Malwatte Single Estate Tea range: a pale grey tin with an orange label, marked Pure Ceylon Black Tea and 75g net. The tin says the hand-plucked leaf is made with fresh mangoes, so the cup carries a mango aroma over the black tea.
The tea is grown and processed by Malwatte Valley Plantations, which has about 4,500 hectares of tea in the Uva region of Sri Lanka.
In the tin
- 75g of loose black tea made with mango
- Rectangular lidded tin with a picture of the leaf on the label
How to brew
Use one teaspoon (about 2.5 g) per cup with freshly boiled water and brew for 3 to 5 minutes. It is pleasant without milk, hot or poured over ice once cooled.
Storage
Close the lid firmly after use and keep the tin in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and strong smells.
Malwatte is the food brand of Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC of Colombo, a Sri Lankan grower, manufacturer and exporter of tea and spices.
