About this experience
Lace up your boots and set out on an 11-hour private hike to Kirigalpoththa, Sri Lanka's second-highest peak, travelling through the protected highland plateau of Horton Plains National Park near Pattipola. Your English-speaking trekker leads the way across rolling montane grasslands where sambar deer, purple-faced langurs, chevrotain, and wild boar roam freely. Park entrance fees are covered, so you step straight onto the trail without queuing at the gate.
Refreshments and water bottles keep you fuelled on the ascent, and a traditional Sri Lankan lunch awaits mid-journey. This is a private activity — just your group, your guide, and the mountain. Minimum age is 12. Note that hotel pick-up and drop-off are not included, so arrange your own transport to the park entrance. Gratuities and personal expenses remain at your discretion.
