Kahata Rahata is a Steuarts black tea packet from George Steuart for everyday plain tea. In Sinhala, kahata means tea taken without milk, the way many Sri Lankans drink it through the day.
It is sold in 50 g, 100 g and 200 g packets; pick the size on this page.
In the pack
- Ceylon black tea
- Sizes: 50 g, 100 g or 200 g
How to brew
Use one level teaspoon, about 2 g, per cup of freshly boiled water. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes and strain. For kahata, drink it as it is; a sweetener of your choice is optional, and so is milk.
Storage
After opening, close the packet tightly or tip the tea into a lidded tin. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from strong smells.
George Steuart Teas is the tea company of George Steuart and Co., founded in Ceylon in 1835. It buys, blends and packs its teas at its own facility near Colombo.
