Fadna Tummy Tea is a herbal tea built on an ancient Ayurvedic formula, presented in a Smart Pack of 15 individually wrapped tea bags with a net weight of 30g. Produced in Sri Lanka by Food & Nature (Pvt) Ltd under the Fadna brand, it is certified by the Department of Ayurveda of the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine of Sri Lanka — a formal registration confirming the tea can be consumed without a prescription and is suitable for general use.
Seven botanicals make up the blend, all with deep roots in classical Ayurvedic tradition. The first three — Terminalia chebula, Terminalia belerica, and Phyllanthus emblica — together form Triphala, one of the most recognised compound formulations in Ayurvedic practice, derived from three distinct fruits. They are joined by Aegle marmelos, a plant long associated with digestive traditions across South and Southeast Asia; Aerva sarciculata; Asteracantha longifolia; and Glycyrrhiza glabra, the liquorice root that gives the brew a mild natural sweetness. The technology behind the formulation was developed with the involvement of the Ministry of Agriculture, Sri Lanka.
Each tea bag holds 1.8g of the blended herbs and is prepared by steeping in 150ml of freshly boiled water. The packaging specifies that for consistent results the tea is best taken twice daily — on an empty stomach in the morning and again before bed at night — and that this routine is suited to both men and women. The manufacturer recommends continuing on this twice-daily schedule for thirteen to twenty-four weeks, followed by at least one cup per day thereafter as a maintenance habit.
