Here the Classic blend of Bogawantalawa comes in a clear jar instead of a pouch. Bogawantalawa is a Sri Lankan tea company named after its home valley in the central hills, opened to tea by Scottish planters in 1869.
Classic is the brand's smooth everyday black tea, described on the label as a high-grown special blend. The 250g jar has a wide neck and a green screw lid, so you can spoon straight from it and keep it on the counter. The maker describes its teas as climate positive.
In the pack
- 250g loose black tea
- High-grown Ceylon blend from the Classic range
- Clear PET jar with a green screw lid
In the cup
A smooth, amber black tea with a rounded body. It is made for milk and sugar but is pleasant plain too.
How to brew
Use one teaspoon (about 2.5 g) per cup and freshly boiled water. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes and strain. Keep the lid tight and the jar out of direct sun.
Serving ideas
Good for the office kitchen or the guest house tea tray. Once empty, the jar can be refilled from a pouch.
