Calophyllum moonii is an evergreen tree endemic to the wet lowland rainforests of southwestern Sri Lanka. A member of the family Calophyllaceae, it grows in conditions of high humidity and reliable year-round rainfall, placing it firmly within one of the island's most ecologically important — and most threatened — forest zones.
