About this experience
Step into a private safari jeep and head into Wilpattu National Park — Sri Lanka's oldest and largest national park, famous for its natural lakes and dense wilderness. Over three hours, your experienced driver-tracker guides up to six passengers through the park's ecosystem, scanning the tree line for the elusive Sri Lankan Leopard and watching for a Sloth Bear moving through the scrub. Binoculars come into their own here: the birdlife is vivid and varied, and butterflies are in abundance across the clearings. A one-litre water bottle is included per person, and park entrance tickets are covered when you select the "Jeep With Tickets" option.
Pickup and drop-off are provided free of charge from any location within 5 km of Hunuwilagama. The tour is conducted in English, with all taxes and service charges included in the price. Food, drinks, and gratuities are not included. Lakpura operates this as a fully private experience, so the jeep is yours alone for the duration.

Much better than expected
We (a group of 4 adults) know that wild animals do not show up on command. This, combined with the fact that one of us is a photographer and has experience from safari in Africa, was the reason we had booked both a full-…

Amazing wildlife, but questionable ticketing experience
Overall, a great park experience - we saw a leopard, Sri Lanka junglefowl, deer, a falcon, even a small bear, and plenty of buffalo. Worth visiting.
But the ticketing felt like a scam. We were charged full foreigner rat…
