About this experience
Leave Colombo in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with your English-speaking chauffeur guide and head south to Udawalawe National Park. Board a jeep for the first of two half-day safaris, scanning the open grasslands and reservoir banks for Sri Lanka's resident elephant herds, water buffalo, and crocodiles. A litre of water per person keeps you refreshed on each drive. Overnight accommodation is arranged separately.
On day two, complete your second jeep safari before continuing to Galle. Walk the broad ramparts of the 16th-century Dutch fort, browse the cobbled streets within the walls, and take in the lighthouse before your return to Colombo. Entrance fees to Udawalawe National Park are paid on arrival and are not included in the tour price.
