This is a private car transfer from Colombo Airport (CMB) to Palace, Mirissa City, run by a Lakpura chauffeur who meets you in the arrivals hall and takes care of the drive south from the moment you land. You travel in your own vehicle, not shared with other passengers, which matters after a long flight when the last thing you want is another queue or another stop before you get to sleep somewhere that looks out over the Indian Ocean.
The route follows the Southern Expressway down the coast, the fastest way to reach Mirissa from the airport, with the driver choosing the best road on the day depending on traffic and weather. Palace Mirissa sits on a cliff above the sea on the southern coast, close to the fishing town of Mirissa and a short run from Matara, so the final stretch of the journey gives you a preview of the coastline you have come to see.
Your chauffeur speaks English and is there with a name board at the arrival lobby, ready to help with luggage and get you on the road with a minimum of fuss. Lakpura's standard practice for this kind of transfer includes a waiting period after flight landing, so delays at immigration or baggage claim will not leave you stranded, and bottled water is provided for the journey. The car itself is private and air-conditioned, sized to the number of passengers travelling together.
Booking the transfer in advance means one less thing to arrange once you land in an unfamiliar country, and it means someone is accountable for getting you to the resort rather than leaving you to negotiate with taxi touts outside the terminal. The same service runs in reverse for your departure, taking you from Palace Mirissa back to Colombo Airport in time for your flight.
