About this experience
Board a private vehicle in Colombo and spend two days tracing Sri Lanka's southern coastline with an English-speaking chauffeur guide. Day one takes you through Hadungoda's rare low-country tea estate, into the ramparts of the Dutch Fort in colonial Galle, and along the shoreline at Koggala where stilt fishermen balance over the shallows. You overnight on the coast before a full second day on the water and riverbank.
Day two puts you on a boat in Mirissa Bay for whale watching, then into a dugout on the Madu River for a mangrove safari, and ashore at the Balapitiya turtle hatchery to see conservation work up close. Your fare covers the private vehicle, fuel, highway tolls, your chauffeur guide, and two 500 ml water bottles per person each day. Hotel accommodation, meals, and site entrance fees are arranged separately.
