Jathika Namal Uyana is a forest sanctuary and temple complex situated in the Dambulla area, within the boundaries of Sri Lanka's cultural triangle. It draws visitors for two remarkable natural features: the largest rose quartz mountain in South Asia, whose pink stone is said by historians to have formed over 550 million years ago, and an extensive plantation of ironwood trees that once served as an ancient asylum.

The trek through the sanctuary takes visitors past the ruins of a monastery and the foundations of old structures believed to have formed part of the original complex. It is a rewarding walk for those with an interest in both natural history and ancient Sri Lankan heritage, combining geological spectacle with the quiet atmosphere of a working forest sanctuary.

Booking tickets in advance through Lakpura is recommended to avoid any delays on arrival. The entrance ticket includes a guided service, allowing visitors to explore the site with proper context and commentary.
