About this experience
Step into a private jeep and head into Kaudulla National Park on a four-hour safari departing from Habarana. Your experienced driver doubles as your tracker, guiding you along the banks of the Kaudulla tank where herds of wild elephants gather to drink. Scan the treeline for the park's remarkable albino axis deer — a rarity found here and nowhere else in Sri Lanka — and listen out for the calls of tropical birds as you move through the scrub forest. With a maximum of six passengers per jeep, the experience stays genuinely private.
Free pickup and drop-off is included from any location within five kilometres of the park gate, and a water bottle is provided per person. Note that park entrance fees are paid separately in cash on arrival, and gratuities are not included. Children aged five and above are welcome on the safari.
