Birdwatching in Jaffna Lagoon

Set out across the Jaffna Lagoon on this private three-hour birdwatching session, where extensive mudflats, sea grass beds and scattered mangroves create a rich feeding ground for water birds. Scan the shallows for American flamingos wading in formation, watch ducks drift between the grass beds, and track gulls and terns overhead as shorebirds pick through the mud at the water's edge. Your knowledgeable safari guide provides commentary throughout, pointing out species and behaviour that are easy to miss without a trained eye.

This is a private activity, so the pace and focus are yours to shape in conversation with your guide. Children aged five and above are welcome. Gratuities and food and drink are not included, so bring water and any snacks you need for the session.
