Accepted Answer

It belongs to the family Cyperaceae, commonly known as the sedge family. The genus Scleria within this family is sometimes called nutrush or razor sedge, characterised by hard, nut-like fruits and narrow, grass-like leaves. The species name 'poaeformis' reflects its resemblance to grasses of the Poaceae family.
